Account Deletion Policy

Effective Date: July 24, 2026 Last Updated: July 24, 2026

This Account Deletion Policy explains how to delete your Eventrix account, what happens when you do, and what data may be retained afterward. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy.

1. How to Request Deletion

1.1 In-app (self-service): Open the App, go to Settings → Delete Account, and confirm. This is the fastest way to delete your account and takes effect immediately.

1.2 By contacting us: If you are unable to access the App, you may request deletion by emailing us at the address in §5 from your registered email address, so we can verify the request is genuinely yours.

2. What Happens Immediately

2.1 Your account is deactivated the moment deletion is confirmed. You are signed out, and the account can no longer be used to log in — including with any session token issued before deletion, which is rejected on its very next use.

2.2 Your profile is no longer visible or accessible within the App to you or to other users.

2.3 Your device's push notification registration for that account is cleared, so no further notifications are sent to it.

3. What Is Deleted vs. Retained

3.1 Deleted / made inaccessible: your profile information (name, email, phone, date of birth, bio, location, profile picture), your organizer profile (if any), notification preferences, and interests.

3.2 Retained where legally required, per our Data Retention Policy: completed booking, payment, refund, and payout records (for statutory financial recordkeeping), and administrative audit log entries recording actions taken on your account by staff (not your personal activity). These records remain but are no longer linked to a usable, logged-in account.

3.3 Reviews, chat messages, or Shorts you posted may be removed or de-identified as part of deletion, except where retaining them is necessary to preserve the integrity of another user's booking or event record (for example, a chat history other attendees are still part of).

4. Timeline

4.1 Access is revoked immediately upon deletion — this is not a multi-day process from your perspective.

4.2 Underlying database records are soft-deleted immediately and excluded from all active use; any residual copies in routine backups age out and are purged on our infrastructure provider's normal backup rotation, as described in our Data Retention Policy §4.

5. Reversing a Deletion

Account deletion is intended to be permanent. If you change your mind shortly after deleting your account, contact us promptly at the email below — we cannot guarantee recovery, but will make a reasonable effort if the request comes in quickly.

6. Deleting Your Account vs. Deleting Your Data

The steps above ("Delete Account") deactivate your account: you're signed out, it can't be logged into, and your profile is hidden — but your account row and its associated records are only soft-deleted, not erased. If you specifically want your personal data erased (not just your account deactivated), use Delete My Data instead — see §7.

7. Delete My Data (Full Data Erasure)

7.1 Open the App, go to Settings → Delete My Data. Unlike Delete Account, this requires you to confirm your identity first — enter your current password, or, if you signed up with Google/Apple/Facebook and have no password, re-authenticate with that same provider. This step exists because an erasure request must be provably from you, not just from whoever is holding your current session.

7.2 Once verified, erasure happens immediately: your profile, interests, saved events, follows, waitlist entries, registered devices, active sessions, and linked sign-in methods are erased outright. Records we are legally required to keep — completed bookings, payments, refunds, payouts, organizer KYC documents where applicable, and administrative audit logs — are retained as described in our Data Retention Policy §5.2, but with your name, email, and phone number stripped from the account they're linked to.

7.3 This action is logged (that an erasure occurred, and what was erased versus retained) as part of our own compliance record-keeping — see our Data Retention Policy §5.2 for the full technical description of this mechanism.

7.4 Delete My Data is more thorough than Delete Account and cannot be undone once processed — there is no recovery window for this action, unlike the best-effort exception described in §5 for a plain account deletion.
